Groupe Chalifour has been a family business for more than 50 years. It all started in 1967 with Armand Chalifour, mechanical engineer with some interest in business who launched Le Centre d’Alignement Rimouski located in a city of the same name in the Bas-St-Laurent region. On the crest of his success, he started expanding with les Centres d’Alignement Chalifour Inc. and was a precursor at the time with the establishments of « franchises » of the same name in different locations of the province.

From a business opportunity to another, over the years, businesses were bought and sold in various areas such as; retreading of tyres (Bandag) with places of business in Canada and Guadeloupe; the manufacture of machineries to bend exhaust pipes (American Machine & Hydraulic) today an industrial standard; the manufacture of fibreglass furniture; the recycling of metals and residues of aluminium plants (in Martinique, la Reunion and Saguenay) for the most important ones.

Since the early 90’s, the sectors of activity were focused on real estates, the commerce of spare parts, services and repair for large diesel engines and gas turbines as well as the commerce of electricity generation equipment and turnkey installation from 20 to 150 Mw power plants.

The company is now managed by the second generation, Martin Chalifour, who follows the same entrepreneurial spirit worldwide. With business offices in Quebec, France, Panama and Chile, this small Quebec based multinational corporation counts on qualified and professional employees of different nationalities, making it a dynamic company still in expansion.
